On 27th July 2022, Dr. Charles A. Gauci, Chief Herald of Arms of Malta resigned from his role as a Commissioner in the International Commission for Orders of Chivalry (ICOC) and withdrew his Office from active participation in the ICOC-Cert scheme as it was felt that a State-Appointed Official should not be closely associated with a private organization not having an Official State bearing role.
